We are excited to introduce Thomas Matthes as the new Director of the Life Sciences Business Unit at BIOMEX. With over 30 years of experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and diagnostics industries, he brings in-depth expertise in cell culture, stem cells, and personalized medicine.

Thomas became aware of BIOMEX through LinkedIn, and the vision for Life Sciences immediately sparked his interest. He believes that Germany needs innovation, and he sees great potential in this area: “We need to create a strong, innovative value chain” to develop technologies and solutions at the highest level.

His role is to strategically expand the Life Sciences activities of BIOMEX, Symbiosis, and provitro – from the development pipeline to the commercial strategy and public image. With innovative products for cell culture, human biomaterials, and bioassays as a service, he aims to lay the foundation for future innovation and growth.

The importance of teamwork is particularly vital to him: “Success is achieved together” – a principle that has guided him throughout his career.
