On July 1st, we celebrate a significant milestone: 20 years of BIOMEX under the responsibility of Mr. Bosnjak. From its humble beginnings as a supplier of biological materials, BIOMEX has grown to become Europe’s leading supplier of human biological samples and a pioneering manufacturer in diagnostics and life sciences, thanks to its dedicated team and valued partners.

Since Mr. Bosnjak acquired BIOMEX in 2004, we have achieved the following remarkable milestones:

• • In 2005, the first plasma donation center was opened in Munich.
  • In 2009, a second plasma donation center was established in Heidelberg.
  • In 2011, DiaMex GmbH was founded as a supplier of manufacturer-independent controls.
  • In 2013, ESfEQA GmbH was established, providing accredited external quality assessments.
  • In 2018, Neckar Biotechnology was founded in Shanghai, receiving import approval for human biological specimens in China.
  • In 2020, BIOMEX became the first provider worldwide to collect large quantities of plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients.
  • In 2022, BIOMEX entered the life sciences industry, offering PBMCs and other human biological specimens, and expanded its services and products.
  • BIOMEX is now the leading European CRO for the IVD industry, having completed over 150 validation services for SARS-CoV-2 assays for the European market.
  • In 2023, BIOMEX launched Europe’s largest tissue biobank, with over 3,000,000 human tissue samples in FFPE block format.
  • provitro AG and Symbiosis GmbH were welcomed into the MEX Group, specializing in advanced analytical services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with Symbiosis GmbH providing services under GMP standards.
  • In 2024, BIOMEX introduced it’s latest innovation,human-derived ECM for cancer and stem cell research, and began collecting leukocytes at the Munich Plasma Center.
